Have fun with fashion! "
Designers Venice Wong and Tatiana McLane's motto.
Who are these girls
and how was Queenie4ever created?
Venice and Tatiana are a
mother/daughter design team who decided to create the Queenie4ever clothing
design company to inspire girls to be creative, follow their dreams, and
have positive self-esteem.
Venice has always had a
passion for fashion and started developing her unique style at a young
age. Early on, she learned to sew and design clothes for her dolls. |
Her first work was influenced by her talented mom who was an excellent seamstress
and created lots of beautiful clothes for Venice to wear. Immersing
herself in fashion magazines and the Sears and JC Penney catalogs, Venice
would cut out the models and write glamorous stories about these characters.
The arts were a large part of her upbringing. She
studied ballet, modern dance and tall flag twirling, and was the captain
of the flag team in high school and a UCLA Flag girl and UCLA Marching
Band member (performing at Dodger Stadium, Rose parade, Magic Mountain,
Disneyland, and many other venues throughout California and the US). Venice
is also a music lover, having learned piano, flute and music history.
Living all over the globe in exotic and interesting places such as Jamaica,
Florida, California, and Hawaii helped shape her unique take on style.
Venice is also a Los Angeles, based entertainment lawyer. She and her
law partner/husband Ben McLane represent numerous famous recording artists,
songwriters and producers.
Venice's 14 year old
daughter Tatiana McLane is Venice's muse and design partner. As a baby,
Tatiana showed a fascination for color and flair. She loved to dress up
and have her picture taken. As she grew older, she started to help her
mom sew projects and design cute things for them to wear and to decorate
their home. Together they scoured vintage shops for things to collect
and mix with their modern clothing. Tatiana shares her mom's love of reading
and creating characters, passion for fashion, and performing.
She is an aspiring model and actress, and has taken tap, ballet, jazz,
acrobatics and ice skating. She has also performed in several musicals
including Annie, Grease and Oklahoma.
Known for her great
sense of style and color, for years entertainers had been asking Venice
for styling tips. In 2002, after noticing that people were always stopping
them and asking where they had gotten an article of clothing they were
wearing, Tatiana and Venice decided they wanted to start making some cute
things for girls. Queenie4ever was born!
To spread the word on their designs, they began to get celebrities interested
in the company and started custom making clothing and accessories for
stars (including Back street Boy Howie D., Melissa Joan Hart, Tony Kanal
and Gwen Stefani of No Doubt, Michelle Branch, Vanessa Marcil, Am radio,
Toots and the Maytals, And JC Chasez from N Sync). Queenie4ever also supports
and sponsors charities including the Dorough Lupus Foundation, Tuberous
Sclerosis Alliance, and the USC Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Queenie4ever is now
proud to announce the debut of the Queeniegirl cameo t-shirt collection!
